A sequel, Subnautica: Below Zero, arrived in May 2021, seven years after the release of the first game. In the game, players have to collect resources and fight for their survival against alien creatures. Subnautica is an open-world survival action-adventure game where players explore the ocean of an alien planet, discovering flora, fauna, secrets, and mysteries in their exploration. According to the hiring post, the game is still in the early stages of development. Unknown Worlds, developers of Subnautica, are currently looking for a Senior Narrative Designer to “work with us to help shape the next game in the Subnautica universe,” confirming the existence of a new Subnautica game coming soon.
